This is not the perfect apartment but as we have found out throughout our years of apartment living these marks contribute to healthiness in ones living experience.

1. Have Scott Ryan as your roomate (For those whom do not have Scott Ryan as your roomate, he is available for rent; we are also takeing interns to follow Scott around and model his roomate abilities)

2. Eat a steady diet of pizza. We suggest at least once a week. (Dominos 3 for 5$, Pizza hut 3 for 5$, CiCis all you can eat, or when you can splurge Fat Jimmies Buffet (Tito is highly recomended)

3. Have weekly prayer together.

4. Have a sufficient supply of Chips and Salsa.

5. Encourage one another.

6. Have a chore list. For those who don't do their chores they will be shunned. When apology for not doing chore is made and accepted restore to normal fellowship.

7. Cheer for the Big Ten.

8. Pay your Bills on time.

9. Celebrate every Saturday with song and dance. (We particularly do the "Mineana Esta Sabado", but you can be creative and develope your own celebration, just be sure to joyfully welcome in the weekend!)

In posting and encouraging these nine marks, we are not trying to lay down an exhaustive or authoratative list. There are other great marks of healthy apartments. We want to purse them as well along with you. But these nine marks are what we believe to be the most neglected in most local apartments today, with huge damaging concequences. Join with us in our journey of having healthy apartments.

Tyler M. I went in and the lady that was cutting my hair seemed really out of it and looked woosy. I didn't know what was going on. So I went and sat in the chair and she didnt even ask how I wanted it cut and just started. As she was snipping away she was kind of mumbling and knodding off and seemd to be falling asleep!! I was like what in the world is going on??? So she said to me that she was on a lot of cough medicine for allergies and stuff but I didnt know what to think, so I asked the other hairdresser if she would do my hair but then the lady doing my hair said she could still do it. Long story short, she did it and it is crazy short with kind of a mohawk look (yikes). I don't know what was in that cough medicine but I think my Supercut haircut days are over. Stay off the cough medicine while at work or dont go to work when takeing all that medicine especially when you have siccors and buzzers in your hands!

Tyler M. I never really liked to read poems untill a few years ago. I haven't read to many for awhile but I would like to read more and write more. There are many people who take great pride in their attributes as to boast in their strength and skills. However, should we not realize that we are inadequate in all things. We are weak but God is strong. In our own strength we will surely fall. We must see ourselves as empty, weak, and needful people. I must be reminded that I can do nothing but by the grace of God.

Do you feel inadequate? In inadequacy through faith in Christ, Believers can rest in God's sovereign power working within them. Continually look to Christ who is supreme above all else, for when we look to ourselves despair inevitably follows. "Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God..."
2 Cor 3:5 (NASB)

Tyler M. I went with John McClure and Pastor Janke from Clifton Baptist Church down to a park at some basketball courts a little ways from Clifton. After a little while of listening to John and Pastor Janke share with a couple people, I was able to talk with a guy named Shawn. After finding out where Shawn was comming from I shared with Shawn truths from the Bible that God is Holy, we are fallen, sin can not dwell in God's prescence and must be punished, Christ has fulfilled all righteousness, he bore our sins in his body on the cross, and he has rose from the dead and defeated death.

While talking to Shawn I was reminded of how important it is for us to preach the gospel to ourselves everyday. Everything that happens in our lives, the crazieness, depression, feelings of despair can overwhelm us but there is hope in the risen Christ. Thanks be to God for sending Christ to free us from the slavery of sin and death. This gives me much hope of eternal life and this night has reminded me to rejoice in such a great salvation that God has graciously and mercifully given to us sinners through faith in Christ. Praise be to God forever!

Tyler M. I am thankful how God has used Spurgeon to speak and minister to the flock in his day and his words have greatly impacted me as well.

Depravity is so evident in my heart and I feel so prone to wonder from God at times. By his grace alone will I persevere to the end. I am reminded daily of how much I am dependent on him to strengthen me and uphold me through life.

May we pray for ourselves and for all of God's people to take heed and recieve strength to not fall into temptation but have eternity stamped on our eyes and exalt Christ in all our thoughts, actions and words.I hope these words encourage you as it has encouraged me to examine myself to take heed and always look to Christ, our only hope.

"I will take heed to my ways."—Psalm 39:1.

FELLOW-PILGRIM, say not in your heart, "I will go hither and thither, and I shall not sin;" for you are never so out of danger of sinning as to boast of security. The road is very miry, it will be hard to pick your path so as not to soil your garments. This is a world of pitch; you will need to watch often, if in handling it you are to keep your hands clean. There is a robber at every turn of the road to rob you of your jewels; there is a temptation in every mercy; there is a snare in every joy; and if you ever reach heaven, it will be a miracle of divine grace to be ascribed entirely to your Father's power. Be on your guard. When a man carries a bomb-shell in his hand, he should mind that he does not go near a candle; and you too must take care that you enter not into temptation. Even your common actions are edged tools; you must mind how you handle them. There is nothing in this world to foster a Christian's piety, but everything to destroy it. How anxious should you be to look up to God, that He may keep you! Your prayer should be, "Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe." Having prayed, you must also watch; guarding every thought, word, and action, with holy jealousy. Do not expose yourselves unnecessarily; but if called to exposure, if you are bidden to go where the darts are flying, never venture forth without your shield; for if once the devil finds you without your buckler, he will rejoice that his hour of triumph is come, and will soon make you fall down wounded by his arrows. Though slain you cannot be; wounded you may be. "Be sober; be vigilant, danger may be in an hour when all seemeth securest to thee." Therefore, take heed to thy ways, and watch unto prayer. No man ever fell into error through being too watchful. May the Holy Spirit guide us in all our ways, so shall they always please the Lord.

Tyler M. (Psalm 119:67, 71)
In seasons of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to, and is therefore compelled to cast himself on God alone. When no human deliverance can avail, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God. Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a rock as this! O blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God--and God alone!
When a man is so poor, so friendless, so helpless that he has nowhere else to turn--he flies into his Father's arms, and is blessedly clasped therein! Despite being taxonomically a carnivore, their diet is overwhelmingly herbivorous. The Giant Panda eats shoots and leaves, living almost entirely on bamboo. Pandas are also known to eat eggs and some insects along with their bamboo diet. These are necessary sources of protein. Pandas find bamboo hard to digest, which leads to their faeces being green in colour and full of undigested bamboo. This then makes the panda dance all night long till the break of dawn.

Tyler M. Dr. Block is an awesome teacher and I have learned so much from him this past semester.

Worship... how have we as God's people worshiped him? In Malachi we see how Israel did not take the worship of YAHWEH seriously or with true reverence. The Lord has loved them because of his sovereign grace alone. We see this in the first part of the book when the Lord tells of his love toward Jacob and not Esau. Heres a quick outline of the Book which I came up with so it is subject to change in time:

I. The worship of YAHWEH because of his sovereingty. (1:1-5)
II. The worship of YAHWEH not taken seriously. (1:6-2:17)
III. The worship of YAHWEH refined. (3:1-7)
IV. The worship of YAHWEH in service. (3:8-18)
V. The worship of YAHWEH in fear and reverence. (4:1-6)

I look at myself and see how I worship the Lord, and question if this is true worship in which he is pleased. Where is my focus,... on God alone? Who he is and what he has done? Do we FEAR the LORD?? Do we see how awesome, powerfull, holy, righteous, just, loving, sovereign he is??
Some versus that really jumped out at me are as follows:

"They may build, but I will tear down"(1:4b)

"Your eyes will see this and you will say, "The LORD be magnified beyond the border of Israel!" (1:5)

"For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offereing that is pure; for My name will be great among the nations, "says the LORD of hosts." (1:11)

"for I am a great King,"says the LORD of hosts, "and My name is feared among the nations." (1:14b)

"For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts." (2:7)

"But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiners fire and like fuller's soap. He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the LORD offerings in righteousness." (3:2-3)

"For I, The LORD, do not change: therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed." (3:6)

"So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him." (3:18)

"But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall. You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,"says the LORD." (4:2-3)

Worship the Lord for his grace and mercy he has shown to us who are unworthy and sinful. He has made us new creatures not as a result of anything we have done but by his sovereign grace alone. Worship the Lord for he will be praised among all nations, for his name shall be feared among all the earth. Do not serve or give out of duty, but do these out of love, adoration, and fear of the Lord for who he is, what he has done, and what he has yet to do. Praise be to God throughout all tribes, tongues and nations forever and ever. May the Lord grant us a heart to truly worship him in spirit and in truth.

Tyler M. And then I am stirred and convicted for reformation in my life.

Charles Spurgeon says "Have you no heart for the lost? Then you are not saved yourself be sure of that!"

In a note to Ray Comfort an athesist writes "You are really convinced that youve got all of the answers. You've really got yourself tricked that youre 100% right Well, let me tell you just one thing. Do you consider yourself to be compassionate of other humans? If you're right, as you say you are, and you believe that, then how can you sleep at night? When you speak with me, you are speaking with someone who you believes is walking directly into eternal damnation, into an endless onslaught of horrendous pain which your ' loving' god created, yet you stand by and do nothing. If you believed one bit that thousands every day were falling into an eternal and unchangeable fate, you should be running the streets mad with rage at their blindness. That's equivalent to standing on a street corner and watching every person that passes you walk blindly directly into the path of a bus and dies, yet you stand idly by and do nothing. You're just twiddling your thumbs, happy in the knowledge that one day that 'walk' signal will shine your way across the road. THINK ABOUT IT. Imagine the horrors Hell must have in store if the Bible is true. Youre just going to allow that to happen and not care about saving anyone but yourself? If your right then youre an uncaring unemotional and purely selfish (expletive) that has no right to talk about subjects such as love and caring."

There are many lost in other countries, in other states, across town and across the street. We will stand in account one day. Will we be found faithful to the call of our Lord and King? "Oh; what a dreadful thing it is to answer for the neglect of such a charge! and what sin more henious than the betraying of souls? Doth not that threatening make you tremble- If you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked shall die in his iniquity; but HIS BLOOD WILL I REQUIRE AT THY HAND?" (Richard Baxter)

(again)
Charles Spurgeon says "Have you no heart for the lost? Then you are not saved yourself be sure of that!"

May we not sit idley around, which I fear I myself do too often. Do we believe, do we have compassion? May we be found faithful on that day and long to hear from our Father, "Well done". Let us humble ourselves and open our eyes to the lost. Yes, we were there. We were once blind, but because of the wonderful grace of our Lord we now see. We once did not understand but the Lord has conqured our conqureing hearts. May we continue to reach out daily; for eternity is at the door, and eternal destination is at hand.

Tyler M.
